How to Find the Right Dose
The recommended Celebrex dosage varies, depending on the source of the pain. It is best to follow a doctor's advice on this issue, but here are some general guidelines:
- For acute pain take 400mg for the first dose, then follow with another 200mg later that same day, if needed. On the following days, take 200mg two times a day, as needed.
- For painful menstrual cramps take 400mg for the first dose, then follow with another 200mg later that same day, if needed. On the following days, take 200mg two times a day, as needed.
- For osteoarthritis pain and stiffness take either one 200mg dose once a day or one 100mg dose twice a day.
- For adult rheumatoid arthritis pain take either 100mg or 200mg twice a day.
